As a son of New Orleans, Lil Wayne expected to be asked to do the Super Bowl Halftime Show at the Superdome. But as you probably know, the gig went to Kendrick Lamar. And Wayne was pretty devastated.
In an Instagram Live, he said, quote, “I thought there was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city. So it hurt. It hurt a whole lot.”
He added, quote, “It made me feel like [crap] . . . it broke me, and I’m just trying to put me back together.”
He also said he feels like he let his fans down by not getting the opportunity.
Will Kendrick make this right by adding Wayne as a special guest? Only time will tell.
