The Celebrity Beat…
When Timothée Chalamet said nobody cares about ballet and opera, the world practically exploded. Even people who’ve never been anywhere near a ballet or an opera house pretended to be outraged.
But it turns out his comments actually HELPED those art forms. That’s according to Alex Beard, the head of London’s Royal Ballet and Opera.
After Chalamet said what he said, the Royal Ballet issued a very measured response, asking him to, quote, “take a look at what we’re doing.” They also noted that the largest part of their audience is 20- to 30-year-olds.
Well, that response got 2.5 million engagements and half-a-million shares on Instagram alone.
And Beard says, quote, “Our ticket sales got an immediate boost. So cheers, Timmy!”
