Almost Half Of Americans Haven’t Started Christmas Shopping

Chattanooga, Tennessee—(Pulse)
47% of Americans have not started their holiday shopping, a survey of 2,000 U.S. adults found. The Affirm poll found that 80% are waiting for better deals, 64% say interest-free promotions were helpful, and 54% of customers want the option to buy now, pay later.
75% plan to spend more or the same amount as last year, and 53% will spend more money on others instead of on themselves.
Consumers intend on buying gift cards, clothes and accessories, trips, food, and decor.
“Merchants find interest-free monthly payment options just as effective as 20% discounts,” Wayne Pommen of Affirm said. “They empower consumers to manage their expenses and cash flow responsibly.”
