In an interview with Variety published on Wednesday (August 24th), Olivia Wilde spoke for the first time about getting served child custody papers from her ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis at CinemaCon in April.

Wilde was onstage promoting her new film Don't Worry Darling, when she was handed a manila envelope that she thought was a script. However, it turned out that she had just been served. Sudeikis denied knowing when and where the child custody papers would be delivered.

"It was my workplace," Wilde said to Variety. "In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn't have been able to happen. There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary. The hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room with several badges, plus special COVID tests that had to be taken days in advance, which gave you wristbands that were necessary to gain access to the event — this was something that required forethought."

In addition to calling the act "vicious," the Booksmart actress said, "But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there's a reason I left that relationship."

SOPHIA NOMVETE COMMENTS ON PLAYING THE FIRST BLACK FEMALE DWARF IN ‘THE RINGS OF POWER:' In the Lord of the Rings prequel The Rings of Power, premiering September 2nd, Sophia Nomvete plays Princess Disa, the first female and Black dwarf in J.R.R. Tolkien's fictional world. In an interview with Today, Nomvete commented on her character in the series. "She's pretty badass and she literally uses her voice to move mountains. She is for the people. She is fiercely loyal. She's in a position of power at this point as is the whole of Khazad-dûm ... and she is just an absolute explosion of everything that we can celebrate about dwarfs and of course, female dwarfs." Nomvete added, "I am flying the flag in order for generations ahead of me to be able to see themselves in a franchise of this scale."

WATCH ‘THE RINGS OF POWER' FINAL TRAILER: According to Entertainment Tonight, just ahead of its September 2nd release, Prime Video dropped the final extended trailer for The Rings of Power. The streaming platform states that in The Lord of the Rings prequel, "Fates collide and disparate characters are tested in the face of impending evil in this glimpse into the long-awaited new series."

‘LAW & ORDER' TO BRING ALL THREE SHOWS TOGETHER IN CROSSOVER EVENT: Today reports that on September 22nd, NBC will kick off its fall season with a three-hour Law & Order crossover event featuring casts from all three shows. Organized Crime will air first, followed by Special Victims Unit and then Law & Order. Kelli Giddish also announced on Wednesday (August 24th) that she will be leaving SVU after 12 seasons.

SECRET ‘BATGIRL' SCREENINGS ARE TAKING PLACE AT WARNER BROS.: According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenings of the shelved Batgirl film have been taking place at the Warner Bros. lot this week. Sources say the "funeral screenings" are being held for the cast and crew who worked on the movie—before the footage gets locked away in a vault somewhere.

THE TRAILER FOR THE FIFTH SEASON OF ‘THE HANDMAID'S TALE' IS RELEASED: Entertainment Tonight reports that Hulu dropped an extended trailer for the fifth season of The Handmaid's Tale on Wednesday (August 24th). The new season is set to premiere on September 14th.

Jennifer Lopez wore not one, but three different wedding gowns when she married Ben Affleck in Riceboro, Georgia, over the weekend. In her On The JLo newsletter sent out Tuesday (August 23rd), the Marry Me actress shared photos of the dresses and their designs.

Lopez walked down the aisle in a custom Ralph Lauren gown that had over 1,000 handkerchiefs attached to it—to give it a ruffled look and "to make an ethereal version of Ralph Lauren's classic turtleneck column dress." She also wore a cathedral-length veil.

Later, the Hustlers actress changed into a chandelier pearl gown with Swarovski crystal detailing that was hand-embroidered by 30 artisans. Her third Ralph Lauren gown featured a mermaid silhouette, a keyhole neckline, and a removable hood.

"The dresses were dreamy… thank you Ralph Lauren," Lopez wrote in her newsletter. "I will be sharing a few more pics and delicious details on our big day coming very soon On The JLo," she added.

In an interview with ET Canada, Clerks director Kevin Smith said he teared up big time during Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's "overwhelmingly emotional" weekend wedding.

"F**k, was it one of the most beautiful events I've ever been present for in my life. I can't share details because it would be theirs to share," Smith said.

The Mallrats creator added, "I'm a crier. I cry all the time. I cry watching episodes of The Flash. I cry watching Degrassi for heaven's sake. But I bawled throughout because it was so goddamn beautiful. So beautiful."

Anne Heche's death certificate shows that the Volcano actress was cremated on Thursday (August 18th) and that she will be buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

A statement written on behalf of her 20-year-old son Homer reads, "My brother Atlas and I want to thank Tyler, Noelle and all the amazing people at Hollywood Forever for their kindness, compassion and generosity of spirit. On the debut episode of her Archetypes podcast released on Tuesday (August 23rd), Meghan Markle talked with Serena Williams about ambition and being a mother. The Duchess of Sussex revealed that during her visit to Africa with Prince Harry in 2019, a fire broke out in their son Archie's nursery.

"When we went on our tour to South Africa, we landed with Archie. Archie was what, four and a half months old. And the moment we landed, we had to drop him off at this housing unit that they had had us staying in," she said.

Markle continued, "He was going to get ready to go down for his nap. We immediately went to an official engagement in this township called Nyanga, and there was this moment where I'm standing on a tree stump and I'm giving this speech to women and girls, and we finish the engagement, we get in the car and they say, 'There's been a fire at the residence.' What? 'There's been a fire in the baby's room.' What?"

Luckily, their "amazing nanny" decided to bring Archie downstairs with her while she made a snack. "We loved that she would always tie him on her, her back with a mud cloth, and her instinct was like, 'Let me just bring him with me before I put him down.' In that amount of time that she went downstairs, the heater in the nursery caught on fire. There was no smoke detector. Someone happened to just smell smoke down the hallway, went in, fire extinguished," Markle said.

Wendy Williams' son Kevin Hunter Jr. has been accused of allegedly charging $100,000 to her credit card before her back accounts were frozen. According to The Sun, Kevin charged thousands of dollars to his mother's personal American Express card. His activity allegedly factored into Wells Fargo's decision to freeze Williams' accounts.

Kevin has denied any wrongdoing, telling The Sun, "I vehemently deny any allegations of unauthorized use of my mother's American Express Card. This is a false narrative perpetuated to justify freezing her accounts."

As previously reported, Wells Fargo froze Wendy Williams' accounts based on suspicions of "financial exploitation, dementia or undue influence." A financial guardian took control of her accounts in May.

STEVE TOUSSAINT ADDRESSES RACIST BACKLASH OVER HIS ROLE IN ‘HOUSE OF THE DRAGON:' In an interview with Men's Health published on Monday (August 22nd), Steve Toussaint, who plays Lord Corlys Velaryon on House of the Dragon, addressed racist reactions to his character. According to The Los Angeles Times, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Kevin Hart, Sylvester Stallone, and Dwyane Wade are among more than 2,000 customers who were issued "notices of exceedance" by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District—which means these celebs used more than 150% of their monthly water allowances at least four times since the agency declared a drought emergency at the end of 2021. The notice reads, "Customers are expected to adhere to the water use reductions and water conservation measures that are in place due to this emergency."

JULIA FOX TELLS PARENTS TO FORGET TOYS AND BUY KIDS CLEANING SUPPLIES INSTEAD: On Monday (August 22nd), Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox shared a TikTok with some parenting advice. Referring to her 19-month-old son Valentino, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Artemiev, Fox said her son "doesn't care for his toys." She continued, "He is actually more interested in what I'm doing. So I suggest that everyone buy their kid a mini-mop and mini-broom and start teaching them those life skills really young, so when they enter the real world they don't have to outsource for everything, and they know how to do things for themselves. PAUL RUDD JOINS THE CAST OF ‘ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING:' According to Variety, Paul Rudd is set to star on the third season of Only Murders in the Building. ‘KING KONG' SERIES IN THE WORKS AT DISNEY+: Deadline reports that a series with the working title of King Kong is in the early stages of development at Disney+. Written by Stephany Folsom, the series aims to bring the classic King Kong story into the modern age.

‘CURB YOUR ENTHUSIAM' RENEWED FOR 12TH SEASON: Variety reports that HBO Max has renewed Curb Your Enthusiasm for its 12th season. ‘BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER' AXED BY HBO MAX: TVLine reports that HBO Max will not be moving forward with the animated series Batman: Caped Crusader. This is one of six animated projects the streaming platform has decided to drop.

Casey Affleck might have missed out on Bennifer 2.0's second wedding over the weekend, but that didn't stop him from extending a warm welcome to Jennifer Lopez.

On Sunday night (August 21st), the Ocean's 11 star shared a photo of himself walking along a road with Lopez and his brother Ben. "Good things are worth waiting for. Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love," he wrote.

To his new sister-in-law, he added, "Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Kidding. I am kidding. Jen, you are a gem. We love you so much!!!"

A day after he was charged with sex crimes by the Cherry Hill Police Department in New Jersey, Point Break actor Gary Busey was photographed pulling his pants down in public.

The 78-year-old actor was at a public park in Malibu, California, on Saturday (August 20th), sitting on a bench with his black sweatpants down to his knees. He was also seen looking around and smiling.

Apparently, this isn't the first time the Rookie of the Year actor has pulled his pants down in public. Busey fought with several housemates on the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 for doing the same thing.

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have commented on the criticism they've received regarding their relationship. The pair began dating in 2020, after working on Don't Worry Darling together. Since then, some of the "As It Was" singer's fans have taken issue with Wilde—as well as the couple's 10-year age gap.

When The Rolling Stone asked Styles about the scrutiny, he said, "Can you imagine going on a second date with someone and being like, ‘OK, there's this corner of the thing, and they're going to say this, and it's going to be really crazy, and they're going to be really mean, and it's not real.… But anyway, what do you want to eat?'"

Styles added, "It's obviously a difficult feeling to feel like being close to me means you're at the ransom of a corner of Twitter or something. I just wanted to sing. I didn't want to get into it if I was going to hurt people like that."

Wilde shared her perspective on the matter as well. "What I don't understand about the cruelty you're referencing is that that kind of toxic negativity is the antithesis of Harry, and everything he puts out there. I don't personally believe the hateful energy defines his fan base at all. The majority of them are true champions of kindness," she said.

NeNe Leakes has dropped her discrimination lawsuit against Bravo, NBC Universal, and network executives including Andy Cohen. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star filed the lawsuit in April, claiming that Bravo, NBC Universal, and the True production teams "foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged."

People obtained court documents on Monday (August 22nd) showing that Leakes "dismisses this action and all claims asserted by Leakes without prejudice."

The documents state, "All Parties consent and stipulate to the foregoing dismissal. No party will seek recovery of costs or attorneys' fees in any submission to this Court."

Since this is a joint stipulation dismissal without prejudice, Leakes can reopen the case down the road if she would like to.

ALCOHOL WAS ‘NOT A FACTOR' IN SCOTT DISICK ACCIDENT: According to Us Weekly, the cause of Scott Disick's single-car accident over the weekend was speeding. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a press release, "It was determined the primary cause of the traffic collision was speed and alcohol was not a factor. Disick suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical treatment. He was picked up from the scene by family members and his vehicle was towed away per his request."

PRIYANKA CHOPRA SHARES ADORABLE PHOTOS OF BABY MALTI MARIE: Priyanka Chopra shared a photograph of herself lounging with her seven-month-old daughter, Malti Marie, whom she shares with Nick Jonas, to Instagram on Sunday (August 21st). The Quantico actress also shared an image showing Malti's feet in her face. "Love like no other," she captioned the snaps.

NEARLY 10 MILLION VIEWERS TUNED IN TO ‘HOUSE OF THE DRAGON' ON SUNDAY: The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has gained the largest audience ever for a new original series on HBO. Deadline reports that 9.986 million U.S. viewers watched the series on Sunday (August 21st).

REGAL CINEMAS' PARENT COMPANY IS CONSIDERING BANKRUPTCY: On Monday (August 22nd), Cineworld, the owner of Regal Cinemas, confirmed with BBC News that "Voluntary Chapter 11" bankruptcy might be in the company's future due to its debt burden. In a statement to CNN, the company said, "Cineworld would expect to maintain its operations in the ordinary course until and following any filing and ultimately to continue its business over the longer term with no significant impact upon its employees." Regal and Cineworld theaters will remain open for "business as usual."

‘KNIVES OUT' SEQUEL GETS RELEASE DATE: According to Variety, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is set to premiere on Netflix on December 23rd. The Knives Out sequel will also "be released in select theaters on a to be announced date." Netflix revealed first-look photos of the film on Monday (August 22nd) as well.

ABC ORDERS ‘THE COMPANY YOU KEEP' TO SERIES: Deadline reports that ABC picked up The Company You Keep on Monday (August 22nd). This Is Us actor Milo Ventimiglia serves as an executive producer on and stars in the series produced by 20th Television. Ventimiglia plays a con man who falls in love with an undercover CIA agent, played by Catherine Haena Kim.

A little more than a month after saying, "I do," in Las Vegas, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married again on Affleck's estate in Riceboro, Georgia, Saturday (August 20th). This time, the pair got to celebrate with friends and family.

Celebrity guests included Matt Damon, Kevin Smith, and Jason Mewes. Smith and Mewes starred in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back alongside Affleck. Celebrity life coach Jay Shetty officiated the wedding as well.

Lopez's twins, Emme and Max, and Affleck's three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, were also in attendance. According to Page Six, the Gone Girl star's ex-wife Jennifer Garner was spotted shopping at a West Virginia Sam's Club around the same time the ceremony took place. It was previously reported that she couldn't attend due to scheduling conflicts.

Casey Affleck didn't make it to the big event either because he had "parental obligations at home," according to People.

Lopez wore a custom gown by Ralph Lauren that featured cap sleeves and a flowing, ruffled train. She also wore a sprawling sheer veil. Affleck wore a white tuxedo jacket with black trousers and a black bowtie. Guests were photographed wearing all white.

The family of Twister actor Bill Paxton has settled the wrongful death suit with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the doctor who operated on him.

The lawsuit was filed in 2018, a year after the Apollo 13 actor died at 57 due to a stroke following heart surgery. Paxton suffered complications during and after the surgery, and his family alleges that the hospital staff and his surgeon, Dr. Ali Khoynezhad, were negligent.

A month before the case was set to go to trial, the family reached a settlement. "The matter has been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties," the family's lawyers said in a statement.

Point Break actor Gary Busey has been charged with sexual misconduct and harassment by the Cherry Hill Police Department in New Jersey. The offenses took place during a "Monster Mania" convention between August 12th and August 14th.

Busey was a featured guest for all three days of the "Monster Mania" event. The 78-year-old actor was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact, and another of harassment.

"It was about contact – it was about touching," Cherry Hill Township police lieutenant Robert Scheunemann said.

In 2011, Busey was accused of sexually assaulting a female employee on Celebrity Apprentice. The employee told The Daily Beast in 2016, "We were smoking cigarettes outside, and Busey was standing next to me. And then at one point, he grabbed me firmly between my legs, and ran his hand up my stomach, and grabbed my breasts. I didn't know what to do. So I made this joke that, ‘Oh, I've never been sexually harassed by a celebrity before!' Then he grabbed my hand and put it over his penis, and said, like, ‘I'm just getting started, baby.'"

Will Smith is making his way back to the world of social media. After sharing a video on July 29th in which he apologized for slapping Chris Rock at this year's Oscars, the Men in Black actor shared a meme Saturday (August 20th) to see how his social media return would be received.

"Me trying to get back on social media," he captioned the video of a baby gorilla poking an adult gorilla on the back before running away. The baby pokes the adult again, and the adult chases after him.

Fans welcomed the King Richard actor back with open arms. One person wrote, "We've missed you! Everyone goes through s--t. You're human, just like the rest of us! COME BACK WILL!"

On Sunday (August 21st), Smith shared a video of his son, Trey, catching a big spider. Smith films the encounter while standing on top of a chair, as Trey traps the spider under a glass. "Posting this from a Holiday Inn," he captioned the post.

Crunchyroll's Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero beat out Beast at the weekend box office, pulling in $20.1 million. In comparison, Beast claimed the number two spot with $11.57 million.

Meanwhile, Top Gun: Maverick became the ninth highest-grossing film ever with $1.403 billion worldwide. It also surpassed Avengers: Infinity War to claim the title for the sixth highest-grossing film at the domestic box office.

COPS SHUT DOWN GWYNETH PALTROW'S DAUGHTER'S PARTY IN THE HAMPTONS: Page Six reports that Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple invited approximately 50 of her friends to Paltrow's estate in Amagansett on August 13th, before neighbors called the police. A source told the publication, "Apple invited too many friends to her mom's house, and things got out of hand. They were partying like rock stars and making so much noise that multiple neighbors were furious and called the police, who shut the party down. Staff from the town clerk's office also attended to see if the party was a code violation. You can't have more than 50 people at a gathering in the area without a permit."

SCOTT DISICK INVOLVED IN CAR ACCIDENT NEAR CALABASAS: TMZ reports that The Kardashians star Scott Disick was in a single-car accident over the weekend. Law enforcement sources told the publication that Disick rolled his Lamborghini SUV while driving near Calabasas, California. He was reportedly alone in his car and suffered a minor cut to his head.

DANIELLE RUHL AND NICK THOMPSON BREAK UP: Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson are the latest Love is Blind couple to go their separate ways. Documents obtained by Us Weekly show that Ruhl filed for divorce from Thompson on August 15th. The pair just celebrated a year of marriage in June. At the time, Ruhl shared a video montage of their year together and captioned the post, "one year married!!!"
