Ed Sheeran has been awarded over $1.1 million in legal fees following his "Shape of You" copyright case.

According to Rolling Stone, Sheeran won the copyright battle in England for his 2017 single "Shape of You" back in April. A judge ruled that Sheeran and his co-defendants, songwriters Steven McCutcheon and Johnny McDaid, did not plagiarized Sami Chokri's 2015 song "Oh Why."

A different judge will oversee and assess the costs and damages that need to be paid. The judge could also decide to dismiss costs and damages, which would lower how much Chokri and O'Donoghue owe.

According to RS, Ed Sheeran said in a video statement via Twitter, "While we're obviously happy with the result, I feel like claims like this are way too common now and have become a culture where a claim is made with the idea that a settlement will be cheaper than taking it to court. Even if there's no base for the claim. It's really damaging to the songwriting industry. There's only so many notes and very few chords used in pop music. Coincidence is bound to happen if 60,000 songs are being released every day on Spotify."

He continued, "I don't want to take anything away from the pain and hurt suffered by both sides of this case, but I just want to say that I'm not an entity. I'm not a corporation. I'm a human being. I'm a father. I'm a husband. I'm a son. Lawsuits are not a pleasant experience and I hope with this ruling it means in the future baseless claims like this can be avoided."

A Korean Singers Association chairwoman has made a request for BTS to reconsider their "indefinite" break from group activities to focus on solo work and their fans are reacting.

Lee Jayeon, the chairwoman, said, "Since it's not easy to expect next BTS or Beatles, I'm afraid that the Hallyu flow would be cut. I know it's a decision made after a lot of consideration, but I do wish they would reconsider. If BTS disappears, then the Hallyu missionaries ARMY also disappear."

Despite Jayeon's statement, no members of BTS have taken steps towards quitting music or any other career endeavors.

One fan said, "Respect BTS as humans and artists. If u care so much about the economy, find sustainable long term solutions for industries to thrive, not rely on 7 people to carry the weight of your nation."

SELENA GOMEZ REVEALS REGRET OVER ALBUM COVER: Selena Gomez has revealed the regret she's faced over her 2015 album cover, Revival. During the Hollywood Reporter's Comedy Actress Roundtable, comedian Amy Schumer spoke on how Selena was sexualized at a young age. The singer, "I felt like it was very difficult for people to take me seriously. I have slowly pushed through that, and I'm really glad, but it was very frustrating. I felt like a joke, you know? I actually did an album cover and I was really ashamed after I did it. It was a choice that I wasn't necessarily happy that I made but I think I've done my best at least. I've tried to be myself." She continued, "I'm not an overly sexual person, sometimes I like to feel sexy but that doesn't mean it's for somebody else, it's for me." Gomez added, "I took control of the narrative of my life once I started becoming older because, growing up, I didn't really have a choice. MEGAN TRAINOR IS IN MOM-MODE FOR NEW ALBUM: Meghan Trainor is embracing motherhood in her new album, Takin It Back, which comes out on October 21st. According to Rolling Stone, Meghan said, "She's a motha! I feel like my songwriting is much better since I had a C-section." She welcomed her son Riley with actor Daryl Sabara in 2021. Takin It Back will be Meghan Trainor's first album since 2020.

Olivia Rodrigo is reportedly dating 26-year-old music executive, Zack Bia.

A source told People, "They've been dating since the Super Bowl. They really like each other."

The 19-year-old singer was previously linked to music video producer Adam Faze.

Beyonce's new single "Break My Soul" is a hit! The song is currently number one on iTunes in over 30 countries. The song is also in the top 5 of Apple Music US and UK.

Meanwhile, The Dream also commented on working with Beyonce on "Break My Soul." He wrote via Instagram, "I Love Making You Guys Happy and even if for a second I can give anything of my self to help get you through a moment in these crazy times I'd use my entire heart to do so. No one's f*cking sleeping tonight! @Beyonce we have done something special yet again my good friend."

Beyonce's new album Renaissance is due out on July 29th.

Lorde dropped the music video for her latest single, "The Path" on Tuesday (June 21st).

She shared the video in a newsletter to fans, writing, "On the occasion of the solstice, I wanted to share a sixth video with you, for THE PATH. This video is the first chapter in the mystical Solar Power story, a prequel to the title video. You see my character joining her friends and family on the island where they've chosen to start life anew, arriving in her trademark suit and quickly being transformed by nature's strange magic."

The video's debut comes a year after Lorde announced the release of Solar Power. She explained, "I can honestly say it has been the year with the highest highs and lowest lows I think I've ever experienced. It took people awhile to get the album — I still get emails every day from people who are just coming around to it now! — and that response was really confounding and at times painful to sit with at first."

Solar Power debuted last summer at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Meghan Trainor and Teddy Swims will drop their latest single Friday (June 24th).

Swims wrote on Instagram Tuesday (June 21st), "Me and my bestie @meghantrainor song ‘Bad For Me' comes this Friday!!"

A preview of the track posted on Trainor's TikTok last week shows the two singing the breakup anthem in front of a floral backdrop.

Harry Styles is now an alternative rock artist.

For the first time ever, the singer has a song on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart. "As It Was" debuts at No. 37 on the list dated June 25th, having received airplay on seven of the 59 stations currently reporting to the chart.

The track has also become Styles' second entry on Adult Alternative Airplay, following his debut solo single, "Sign of the Times."

ZARA LARSSON TO DROP NEW MUSIC THIS FALL: Zara Larsson will release the lead single from her fourth studio album this September. According to Pop Crave's Twitter account, the track will have a "hard dance beat" resembling her song "Love Me Land."

ELLIE GOULDING HAS NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY: Ellie Goulding blacked out her social media profiles on Monday (June 20th) and announced that new music is on the way. The singer shared an image of herself in concert on Instagram and wrote, "My happy place…with all of you. Only difference soon is that there will be some new music to give. Think I'm onto something."

Marcus Mumford is going solo.

Sources inside of a Spotify party Monday (June 20th) night told Page Six that the Mumford & Sons singer announced that he will be leaving the band in order to focus on a solo career.

He performed his new music for the first time at the event, which was held for an "intimate group" in the French Riviera.

An attendee told the outlet, "He just said today is day one for his next thing."

Britney Spears' attorney slammed Jamie Spears for filing court documents requesting that Britney be deposed for trashing him on social media

According to documents obtained by Page Six, the elder Spears accused his daughter of continuing to "make public social media posts containing incendiary allegations of various factual matters."

The pop star's attorney, Matthew Rosengart told the outlet Friday (June 17th), "Mr. Spears, who was ignominiously suspended by the Court in September, continues to disgrace himself, especially through this most-recent foolish and ill-advised filing, which is riddled with errors and falsehoods, as he himself knows."

He added, "In addition to trying to bully his own daughter, he is now pathetically reduced to trying to intimidate her, while abusing the legal process and running and hiding from his own deposition. Anyone else would be ashamed by these tactics, but he and his representatives are truly shameless. In terms of ‘impugning his character,' Mr. Spears did that to himself long ago."

Justin Bieber has postponed all remaining U.S. tour dates for the Justice World Tour as he continues to battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

A message posted on the Justice Tour Instagram page last week read, "In light of Justin's ongoing recovery, the remaining US Justice Tour shows scheduled for June and early July will be postponed. Justin continues to receive the best medical care possible, is upbeat about his recover, and is looking forward to getting back out on the road and performing for his fans later this summer."

According to the post, new U.S. dates will be announced shortly.

The singer revealed in a recent Instagram post that half of his face is currently paralyzed because of the syndrome.

Drake appears to respond to negative actions about his new album Honestly, Nevermind. Social media reacted to the project as soon as it was released on Friday (June 17th). One person tweeted, "I thought Drake was finna rap his ass off. He gave us Forever 21, Hot Topic, H&M a** music." Another person tweeted, "Drake got my hips swaying like a bad b*tch."

Taylor Swift appears to have dropped another hint that 1989 will be the next album to get rerecorded.

During a virtual appearance at the Las Culturistas awards Saturday (June 18th), a chalkboard appeared behind the singer that read, "1989 Secret Session Nashville."

She has already dropped two tracks from 1989 (Taylor's Version), including "This Love (Taylor's Version)" and "I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version)".

The Jonas Brothers will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.

Ozzy Osbourne is reportedly looking to renew his vows with Sharon Osbourne for their 40th wedding anniversary. According to The Mirror, the two plan to travel back to Maui where they first got married 40 years ago.

A friend of the couple told the publication, "Ozzy may have been waiting on getting his neck and back sorted after extended leg pain, which has left him unable to walk for long periods. But while that has been his hope, he always wants to treat Sharon to something special for their 40th. They renewed their vows in Vegas in 2017, but he hoped to fly them to Maui for a break to recall their big day."

The friend continued, "He hopes that his recovery will be short and nerve damage will be removed so that he can treat his wife. Ozzy may have gone through the mill in recent years, but his spirit and desire to show Sharon how much their love burns bright remains."

Ozzy underwent surgery last week.

Halsey says son Ender is not a fan of their singing, but jokes that he loves the "really bad" singing of his grandmother.

In an interview this week with Jimmy Fallon, the singer called the 11-month-old their "biggest critic." When she sings to him, he gets pouty and looks like he's going to cry. On the other hand, he loves Halsey's mom, who she describes as someone who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

Halsey said, "It's really bad and when she sings, his eyes light up like she's the stars and the moon. But when I sing, he's not a fan."

Beyonce is reportedly planning secret pop-up shows in the UK to promote her upcoming seventh album. According to The Jasmine Brand, the singer's team has been searching for venues in the UK. A source said, "Beyonce's new album is ready but this era will be like no other. She wrote most of the songs during the pandemic, when she was desperate to be with her fans and perform."

The source continued, "This new record and campaign will be her most interactive one yet because she wants to reach out to the fans. It will focus on live experiences outside of touring, including intimate shows and pop-up performances."

The source added, "She is planning to spend a lot of time performing and promoting it in the UK, so there will be unique surprises in store for the British fans. People in her camp have scouted out venues for her to perform at when the music comes out and then there will be another huge tour later on."

TIdal seemingly confirmed that Beyonce's seventh album is coming! Tidal announced on Instagram that the album is entitled Renaissance and that it will be released on July 29th.

In an interview with Essence, Janet Jackson revealed when she will be releasing her next album. The R&B icon said, "It's so funny because I see the fans asking, 'When are we going to get ‘Black Diamond?' 'Will you please release?' Sometimes things happen that you don't expect to happen, and you have to figure things out—or you're in a space in your life when you have to take a step back and take a break for a minute."

She continued, "Even though it's something that I absolutely love, it still is my work, my job. There will be music at some point. Exactly when? I can't say just yet, but there will be. I love it too much not to do it. This is all I know. There's so much that I want to do—but my number one job is being a mama."

Janet also discussed something that people would be surprised to know about her, saying, "When it comes to my personal life, I think mistaking my kindness for weakness. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Megan Thee Stallion opened up about the July 2020 shooting involving Torey Lanez. Megan recalled the event, saying, "I thought we had a real connection," adding that she and Lanez had bonded over the mutual loss of their mothers. She continued, "I thought he knew me. And I never would've thought he would've shot at me at all." Megan went on, "I want him to go to jail. I want him to go under the jail." If convicted, Lanez faces 22 years in prison.

Megan revealed that after the shooting, she was hospitalized and had to get bullet fragments removed from her feet, saying, "What nobody knows is, I had to get the surgery the same night. I stayed in the hospital in California for maybe four days. Then I was in New York for a while. Both of my legs wrapped up. I could not walk. I still have bullet fragments in my feet right now. I was very scared that I was not able to be Megan Thee Stallion no more. And I was fu**ed up."

Megan revealed that ex best friend Kelsey Nicole met with Lanez two days after the shooting at a hotel room. She said, "I'm like, ‘Kelsey, as my best friend, why would you meet up with the person you saw shoot your best friend?' She said, ‘Megan, y'all wasn't answering my calls. My back was against the wall. I didn't know what to do.' What the f*ck do you mean your back is against the wall? You're the only person in this situation that would clear this up for me."

She continued, "This girl told me out her mouth, ‘He told me, 'Oh, thank you for not saying nothing. Now let me invest in your business. Let me do this. Let me do that.' And all I know was, from that day on, she never said nothing else about the whole situation online."

The rapper also talked about facing backlash after the shooting, saying, "In some kind of way I became the villain. ​I see people saying, ‘Damn, I would've shot that b*tch too.'"
