MORE ABOUT DUSTY SLAY:
“Workin’ Man” follows his half-hour Netflix stand-up debut in 2021’s Season 3 of The Standups which was filmed at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
Alabama-born, Tennessee-based Dusty Slay is propelling the south’s burgeoning comedy scene forward. A Variety Magazine “Top 10 Comics to Watch” (2019) and Nashville Scene’s Best Comedian, his stand-up is clever and observational, landing him on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Comic Standing, Laughs On Fox and TMZ among others. Dusty is also part of Nate Bargatze‘s popular podcast, “Nateland“.
Dusty grew up poor on Lot 8 of a mobile home neighborhood in Opelika, AL, with a love for both classic country and rock and a career history peppered with jobs like waiting tables and selling pesticides. The trucker hat, long hair and mustache, flannel shirt and oversized glasses aren’t affectations to cultivate a stage persona as the B-side of a 1970s Bob Seger track – it’s just Dusty.
At 36, Slay has become the youngest comedian to ever perform on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage in his adopted hometown of Nashville. He has since logged DOZENS of appearances on the historic stage over the past few years.
