Got any secret family recipes?  Or do you just go with whatever’s on the back of a Campbell’s soup can?

A new poll found 71% of Americans have at least one family recipe that was passed down to them.  And we tend to think those recipes are pretty good.

Two-thirds think they have at least one that’s worthy of a bestselling cookbook.  Here are a few more quick stats on family recipes . . .

1.  54% of people with family recipes got one from their parents . . . 40% from a grandparent . . . and 24% from a great-grandparent.

2.  A lot of those recipes are still just written down.  46% have a family recipe on note cards or paper . . . 40% have one written in a recipe book . . . 25% know at least one by heart . . . and just 13% have a digital copy of one.

3.  You might expect Baby Boomers to have the most family recipes on hand, but it’s actually Gen X.  77% of Gen X’ers have at least one.  Then it’s Boomers, 76% . . . Millennials, 68% . . . and Gen Z, 53%.

4.  Do you have any original recipes YOU plan to pass down?  Over a quarter of us do.  27% plan to pass down at least one recipe of their own.
