Chattanooga, Tennessee—(Pulse)

A form of male contraception was found to be more than 99% effective at blocking sperm, according to a trial in Virginia.

Researchers injected 23 men with the non-hormonal birth control known as ADAM. Sperm counts dropped up to 100% in just one month after the procedure.

The “male IUD” works by preventing sperm from moving through the vans deferens and leaving the body.

No adverse effects were noted. This procedure may be available to the public by 2027.
