Alec Baldwin Says Returning To Acting Is 'Strange'

On Monday (February 7th), Alec Baldwin posted a video diary to Instagram from the UK set of 97 Minutes, a low-budget thriller.

"It's strange to go back to work," the 30 Rock actor said. "I haven't worked since Oct. 21 of last year when this horrible thing happened on the set of this film and we had the accidental death of our cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins."

"I even still find that hard to say," Baldwin said of the fatal Rust shooting. "But I went back to work today for the first time in three and a half months."

Baldwin then grumbled a little about low-budget films. "When you have a very limited budget, you're filling positions with people who are … who are good, but they are probably early in their career. And young. Everybody's young," he said.

"But I went back to work today — it was interesting. Interesting. I miss my kids … I miss them all."

"Just brutal, brutal, brutal. I was driving to the set one day and I pulled over to the side of the road and cried for an hour," he said. He added that Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz helped him turn his pain into something "hilarious and cathartic" for the show.

Now, Arnett seems to be doing better. "It's been almost 10 years and my kids are so lucky that Amy is their mother. And I'm so lucky that we're such a huge part of each other's lives, even more so than we were five years ago," he said.

Awkwafina Addressses 'Blaccent' And Signs Off Twitter

Crazy Rich Asians actress Awkwafina, born Nora Lum, has been criticized for years for having a "blaccent," or using African-American Vernacular English (AAVE). On Saturday, the Golden-Globe winner addressed this criticism on Twitter—before signing off the platform entirely.

"As a non-Black POC, I stand by the fact that I will always listen and work tirelessly to understand the history and context of AAVE, what is deemed appropriate or backwards toward the progress of ANY and EVERY marginalized group. But I must emphasize: To mock, belittle, or to be unkind in any way possible at the expense of others is: Simply. Not. My. Nature. It never has, and it never was," the Oceans 8 actress wrote.

Awkwafina also announced that she was leaving Twitter. "I am retiring from the ingrown toenail that is Twitter. Not retiring from anything else, even if I wanted to, and I didn't drunkenly hit someone with a shoehorn and now escaping as a fugitive. Also am avail on all other socials that don't tell you to kill yourself!" the comedian tweeted.

"Well, I'll see you in a few years, Twitter – per my therapist," she added.
