Matchbox Twenty Drops New Single And Tour Schedule

Matchbox Twenty released a new single called "Wild Dogs Running In A Slow Dream," their first in over a decade. At the same time they announced a new album in the works titled, Where The Light Goes, it will be out on May 26.

The band featuring Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook will be kicking off a North American tour as well. Between May and August, they'll make over 50 stops in cities such as Vancouver, Chicago, Phoenix, West Palm Beach, Nashville, and Dallas.

The outing is the band's first since 2017's A Brief History of Everything Tour which marked the 20th anniversary of their Diamond-certified debut album Yourself or Someone Like You.

Matt Nathanson and Ben Rector are set as opening acts.

In a candid Instagram post this week, Ed Sheeran wrote that his next single, "Eyes Closed," is about his friend Jamal Edwards who died last year. He explained that the song is about losing someone and "feeling like every time you go out, you expect to just bump into them."

He went on to say that "You sorta have to take yourself out of reality sometimes to numb the pain of loss, but certain things just bring you right back into it."

Jamal was a music entrepreneur and DJ, who helped launch Sheeran's career in its early days. He died of cardiac arrest following recreational drug use. He was 31.

"Eyes Closed" is from Sheeran's next album, Subtract, which will be out on Mary 5.

Wearing pink pants and a matching pink bandana, a topless woman calmly walked onstage, with phrases like "Land Back" and "Save the Green Belt," written all over her body in black marker. Apparently protesting a highly controversial development deal in Canada's greenbelt region.

At first, Lavigne tried to ignore her, then finally turned and yelled, "Get the f**k off," and with a laugh, she flicked the protestor's breast and said it again. It was at about that point during the broadcast that a security guard finally walked calmly on stage and lead the woman away.

As for the awards portion of the show, Lavigne picked up a Fan Choice award for her album, Love Sux.

Metallica Acquires Vinyl Manufacturing Company Furnace

Metallica has acquired Furnace, one of America's largest vinyl-manufacturing companies. According to Variety, the acquisition formalizes a long-standing relationship between the band and the company, which has produced more than five million pieces of Metallica vinyl since 2014.

The projects include the deluxe boxed-set editions of Metallica's "Kill ‘Em All," "Ride the Lightning," "Master of Puppets," "…And Justice for All," "S&M2" and self-titled albums.

Jimin Drops First Teaser For 'Set Me Free Pt. 2'

Jimin unveiled the first teaser for his "Set Me Free Pt.2" music video on Tuesday (March 14).

In the 30-second clip, the BTS performer is joined by a troupe of dancers before a Friday (March 17th) release date for the single is revealed.

In a preview of Louis Tomlinson's upcoming documentary, All of Those Voices, the One Direction alum opened up about why he insisted on writing songs for the boy band.

Eagle eyed social media users think they've spied Shawn Mendes wearing Sabrina Carpenter's birthstone amid rumors that the two are dating.

Twitter user Selenaitgirll shared images Tuesday (March 14th) that show the "Stitches" singer has been wearing the green amulet stone since January. He's even been seen in it as recently as Sunday (March 12th) night's Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

However, Page Six points out that although Carpenter's birth stone is an emerald, Mendes' necklace is made with malachite.

Ed Sheeran Accusers Banned From Perfroming 'Let's Get It On' In Courtroom Copyright Battle

A federal judge has ruled that Ed Sheeran's copyright accusers will not be able to perform Marvin Gay's "Let's Get It On" live in the courtroom. Billboard reports that U.S. District Judge Louis Stanton called the plan to perform the song in a trial over Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" "unreliable and inadmissible."

However Judge Stanton's decision, filed on March 10th, will allow the heirs of "Let's Get It On" co-writer Ed Townsend, to play a YouTube clip showing the "Bad Habits" singer seamlessly transitioning from "Thinking Out Loud" to "Let's Get It On" during a 2014 concert.

The trial to determine if Sheeran's 2014 hit infringed upon the Marvin Gay classic is set to start on April 24th.

Glendale, Arizona Changes Name To 'Swift City'

The city of Glendale, Arizona has temporarily changed its name to Swift City in celebration of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour.

Glendale Mayor Jerry Weirs said in a statement Monday (March 13th), "There is no need to calm down, we're fearless and doing something highly unusual to celebrate the fact that Taylor's concerts start right here! We know all too well that she's one of the most influential artists of her generation and we are writing our own love story for her and greeting every Swiftie in style!"

The singer will kick off her career-spanning tour on March 17th at State Farm Stadium.

Drake Announces 'It's All A Blur' Tour

Drake has announced that he is hitting the road with 21 Savage for their It's All A Blur Tour. The trek will kick off in New Orleans on June 16th and will make stops in Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles and will wrap in Glendale, Arizona on September 5th.

The Jonas Brothers Say The Album Will Have '70s Influences

The Jonas Brothers will be dropping a new project titled, The Album, in a few months and have spoken on what they used to inspire the release.

Nick Jonas told E! News during the Spotify's Stream On, "We're taking the roots of what our sound is, but also going back to our roots and pulling from those ‘70s influences we grew up listening to."

Joe Jonas added, "A lot of things happened obviously in the last couple of years, so we never got the time to just connect, stay in one room and work on new music. To be able to do that and have that outcome that we had, we are so thrilled."

The pop star brothers pointed as inspirations from Bee Gees, Boston and Stevie Wonder for The Album.

The Album is set to drop on May 12th.

Gene Simmons Would For Kiss To Do Another Las Vegas Residency

Gene Simmons says that he'd love for Kiss to do a Las Vegas residency again. The band's residency at Zappos Theater scheduled for December 2021-February 2022 was called off.

During an interview with Las Vegas Review Journal, he said, "I actually don't know because we have been so inundated by people wanting to see us wherever we go. I mean, every guy whoever washed my dog or did my dry cleaning is hitting me up for tickets for his entire family, three generations back."

He continued, "Vegas? I don't know, it would be nice to do a Vegas residency. But I don't know any of these things."

The Rolling Stones Sued Over Living In A Ghost Town

The Rolling Stones are being sued by a songwriter for their 2020 single "Living In A Ghost Town." According to Billboard, Sergio Garcia, who performs under the name Angelslang, has claimed that the Stones' track was based on "So Sorry" and "Seed of God." which he wrote in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

According to Billboard, the suit said that Jagger and Richards had "misappropriated many of the recognizable and key protected elements" from the older songs, adding that those elements included "vocal melodies, the chord progressions, the drum beat patterns, the harmonica parts, the electric bass line parts, the tempos, and other key signatures" from "So Sorry" and the "harmonic and chord progression and melody" from "Seed of God."

Garcia claimed that he'd given a demo CD to "an immediate family member" of Jagger, and that's how the band gained access to the music. "The immediate family member … confirmed receipt … to the plaintiff via e-mail, and expressed that the musical works of the plaintiff and its style was a sound the Rolling Stones would be interested in using."

Blackpink is now officially the most-streamed female group on Spotify.

According to a report by Guinness World Records, collectively, their songs have reached 8,880,030,049 individual streams. They overtook British pop group, Little Mix by 400 million streams.

When they became the first Asian act to headline Coachella, Jennie told Grammy.com, "Every day we try to acknowledge how grateful we are."

Formed in 2016, the group consists of members Rosé, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo.
