WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘A CHRISTMAS STORY CHRISTMAS:' Just as spooky season came to a close, HBO Max dropped the trailer for the Christmas Story sequel—nearly 40 years after the release of the original film. Variety reports that Peter Billingsley reprises his role as Ralphie, this time as a father who returns to Cleveland St. with his new family. The movie will be available on the streaming platform November 17th.

LUPITA NYONG'O TO STAR IN ‘A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE:' Deadline reports that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Lupita Nyong'o is in final negotiations with Paramount to star in A Quiet Place: Day One. The spinoff will be written and directed by Pig director Michael Sarnoski.

JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME TO LEAD ‘DARKNESS OF MAN:' According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to star in the upcoming neo-noir action film Darkness of Man. The film will be directed by James Cullen Bressack and has been compared to some of Van Damme's other films, including JCVD and The Bouncer.

EMMA ROBERTS AND GEOFFREY RUSH TO STAR IN ‘VERONA SPIES:' Deadline reports that American Horror Story actress Emma Roberts is expected to join Pirates of the Caribbean actor Geoffrey Rush in the forthcoming action-comedy Verona Spies. Frank Coraci, known for The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy, is set to direct the pic.

There were a lot of great costumes on Monday's (October 31st) episode of The View, but one costume in particular is being called into question. In a segment hosted by wardrobe supervisor Ashley Alderfer Kaufman, kids wore costumes inspired by the show's "Hot Topics."

People took to social media in droves to comment on a costume called "The Oscars Slap," in which a child was dressed in a gold outfit to resemble an Oscars statue—with a red handprint on their face.

As the child was onstage presenting the costume, Kaufman told viewers, "We do not want to endorse violence of any kind but we couldn't help but talk about one of the hottest topics of this year."

One Twitter user wrote, "Not a fan of that Oscar slap costume," while another tweeted, "Bad taste on the Oscar slap."

A third person commented, "Difficult to keep up with everything but the red handprint on one's face is the symbol for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Too bad no one was able to flag this costume idea in advance."

It appears that Kim Kardashian didn't get the memo. On Sunday (October 30th), The Kardashians star posted a selfie of herself with Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross to her Instagram stories, writing, "That time I showed up to a birthday dinner in full costume when it wasn't a costume party!" Kardashian mistakenly donned her Mystique costume to the birthday dinner.

"Happy Birthday to the most beautiful kind soul @traceellisross," she added.

On Saturday (October 29th), Ross posted a montage of photos and videos of herself throughout the years. The audio that accompanied the compilation is from a recent interview she did with Today.

In response to how she felt about turning 50, Ross said, "I'm very excited about it. I have always loved getting older."

She added, "If you had told me in my twenties, in my teens, that I was going to be somebody that actually could do scary things, that I could be comfortable even when I was uncomfortable, that I could live life on life's terms, that I could intuitively handle situations which used to baffle me, that I had an unbreakable, unshakeable foundation for life underneath me, I would have said there's no way because I was scared and I was uncomfortable in my skin, and all of these things …"

Jennifer Hudson realized her childhood dream when she stepped out as Sister Mary Clarence, originally portrayed by Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act, on her talk show Monday (October 31st). In addition to performing songs from the movie, she also shared how important Sister Act was to her as a child.

"The movie just meant so much to me as a little girl. When I saw that movie, it gave me so much inspiration. That's the power of an icon like Whoopi Goldberg. It helped me create my dreams. One, I wanted to be in the movie," she said.

The EGOT winner continued, "And if nothing else, I would go to school and be like, maybe I could sit at my desk and sing a song like that. Or, maybe somebody will hand me the microphone so I can get up and sing like that. You think, you know, maybe I could be in a musical one day and sing a song. That would have been a dream for me to be able to do that."

Hudson concluded her performance suspended in the air as confetti fell all around her.

In a cover story for Cosmopolitan published on Monday (October 31st), Lindsay Lohan shared her thoughts on the role of social media in Hollywood these days.

"I don't even know. There's too much of it social media. No, it is nice. Because now I feel like … when I first started out in the business, none of us had a say in how to control our own narrative," she told the outlet.

The Freaky Friday actress continued, commenting on how things compare to the early days of her career. "There were paparazzi pictures, and then people ran with it. So, I think it's really good that in this day and age, people can say who they are and who they want to be."

She added, "I admire and appreciate that. I'm a little jealous because I didn't have that."

Sylvester Stallone got candid about his marriage in an interview with The Sunday Times. The Rocky actor and his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Flavin, almost got divorced in August, before getting back together a month later.

"Let's just say that it was a very tumultuous time," he said. "There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn."

Stallone added that he wants to devote more time to his five children. "I didn't pay enough attention when they were growing up," he said. "I was so career-oriented, and now I go, 'OK, I don't have that much runway up ahead, and I want to start asking them about their lives.'"

Kim Kardashian's daughter North shared a compilation video to TikTok Sunday (October 30th) that included a photo of the former couple standing near each other, as their daughter True showed off her Owlette costume. Khloe also posted the first photos of their newborn son to Instagram on Sunday (October 30th). While his face wasn't visible, one photo shows True holding the baby boy as he wears a Tigger costume.

DONALD FAISON'S DAUGHTER DRESSES UP AS DIONNE FROM ‘CLUELESS:' Donald Faison's seven-year-old daughter Wilder could not be cuter dressed up as Dionne from Clueless for Halloween. In a photo shared to Instagram Monday (October 31st), Faison, who starred in the 1995 film, sits on the stairs behind Wilder with a priceless look on his face as she owns the character—flip phone and all. He also shared a photo of his nine-year-old son Rocco dressed up as Alan Iverson.

TIM ROTH MOURNS THE LOSS OF HIS 25-YEAR-OLD SON: According to E! News, Cormac Roth, the 25-year-old son of Pulp Fiction actor Tim Roth and stylist Nikki Butler, died earlier this month after a "courageous battle" with cancer. Cormac was diagnosed with stage three germ cell cancer in November of 2021. The family said in a statement, "He died peacefully in the arms of his family who loved and adored him. He fought with incredible bravery for the past year, and maintained his wicked wit and humor to the very end."

MICHAEL J. FOX AND TRACY POLLAN COMMENT ON BEING ‘EMPTY NESTERS:' Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's Gala in New York City Sunday (October 30th) about their lives as "empty nesters." DANIEL RADCLIFFE ADDRESSES RUMORS THAT HE'LL PLAY THE NEXT WOLVERINE: In a recent interview with GQ, Daniel Radcliffe addressed the rumors that he'll be starring as the next Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. "It's purely a press tour rumor; I say something, and then occasionally I get bored of answering that way so I say something different, and that sets it off again. ‘FRIDAY THE 13TH' PREQUEL IN THE WORKS AT PEACOCK: According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Friday the 13th prequel titled Crystal Lake is in development at Peacock. American Gods and Star Trek: Discovery creator Bryan Fuller is set to write and executive produce the series.

NICK OFFERMAN AND TALIA RYDER JOIN THE CAST OF ‘DUMB MONEY:' Deadline reports that Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman and Never Rarely Sometimes Always actress Talia Ryder have joined the cast of Dumb Money. The film centers on the GameStop short squeeze that took place in 2021. They will be joining Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan, Pete Davidson, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Vincent D'Onofrio, Anthony Ramos, America Ferrera and Myah'la Herrold.

CRISTIN MILIOTI TO STAR IN ‘THE PENGUIN' SERIES: According to Variety, How I Met Your Mother actress Cristin Milioti is set to star alongside Colin Farrell in The Batman spinoff titled The Penguin. It is believed that the series will take place after The Batman, but details are being kept quiet for now.

There's no doubt many celebrities had fun playing dress up this Halloween weekend!

Naturally, the Kardashian family went all out for the holiday. Kylie Jenner shared her Bride of Frankenstein costume, designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, to Instagram Friday (October 28th). One of the images she shared even shows her strapped into an old examination table. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian wore a stunning costume as Mystique from X-Men, and Kendall Jenner spiced up the Jessie character from Toy Story.

Kerry Washington killed it as Lionel Richie, dancing to "You Are" in an Instagram video. Jessica Alba and a friend dressed up as the twins from the 1980 horror film The Shining, and Paris Hilton went out as Sailor Moon.

Memorable couples costumes include Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, and Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari making fun of their age gap by dressing up as Anna Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall.

In honor of Julia Roberts' 55th birthday Friday (October 28th), a resurfaced interview revealing an incredible story about her birth has been circulating. It turns out, when her parents couldn't afford the hospital bill after she was born, Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King covered it for them.

In the viral clip, Roberts explains to Gayle King how her parents, Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts, became friends with the civil rights leaders. "My parents had a theater school in Atlanta called the Actors and Writers Workshop," she said. "And one day Coretta Scott King called my mother and asked if her kids could be part of the school because they were having a hard time finding a place that would accept their kids," Roberts said, referring to the effects of segregation in the 1960s.

She continued, "And my mom was like, ‘Sure, come on over.' And they all became friends, and they helped us out of a jam."

"The King family paid for my hospital bills," Roberts said.

In a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine, Maya Rudolph said she "did not have a good time" during her first appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2009.

"I did not have a good time," the Loot actress told the publication. "He said my name wrong, and I just sat there, like, I grew up my whole life in love with you. And now my heart is broken. And I'm sitting here embarrassed and humiliated. I didn't know how to handle it."

Rudolph added that now, she tries to be funny when she's uncomfortable. "I didn't know how to come up with something funny to say. My public persona muscle wasn't strong yet," she said. The Bridesmaids actress added, "I've definitely gotten much better."

Letterman apologized to Rudolph later in the episode. "I'm sorry that I mispronounced your name," he said. "I'm just a boob, there's no excuse for it, and from the bottom of my heart, I sincerely apologize."

After it was reported for weeks that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen were having "marital issues," the pair took to their Instagram stories on Friday (October 28th) to confirm reports that they are divorcing after 13 years of marriage.

"With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart," Bundchen wrote. "We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve." She also shared that though they have "grown apart," she wishes "the best for Tom always."

For his part, Brady wrote, "In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way." He added that they will continue to "work together as parents."

According to Deadline, people don't spend as much time at the theaters during Halloween weekend. Black Adam held on to the top spot at the domestic box office, bringing in $27.7 million. The outlet reports that this is a steep drop compared to its first week, but that the film is still seeing success by surpassing the $100 million mark domestically.

On Sunday (October 30th), Redd took to his Instagram stories to address the assault. "I've been resting up like crazy but I want to say thank you thank you thank you for all the messages of love, the jokes, and the concern," he wrote. "I'm okay and healing fast!!" WILL SMITH SAYS FLOYD MAYWEATHER CALLED HIM FOR 10 DAYS STRAIGHT FOLLOWING OSCARS SLAP: TMZ reports that professional boxer Floyd Mayweather supported Will Smith in the days following the infamous Oscars slap. At a private screening of his new film Emancipation at The London Hotel, with Mayweather in attendance, Smith said, "I want to say something also about Floyd … So, we've met each other, we've seen each other around, but we weren't like, friends," he said. "And, the day after the Oscars, for 10 days he called me every day. And, he was like, 'Ay, you know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? KARAMO BROWN OPENS UP ABOUT HIS SON'S DRUG OVERDOSE: On a recent episode of his show Karamo, Karamo Brown talked about the moment he found his son overdosing on drugs two years ago. "Today, I'm going to be very vulnerable with you all. It's something that I've never talked about publicly," he said. "Almost two years ago, I found my oldest son Jason, lying on the floor, dying from a drug overdose," he shared. "And I was terrified. I was about to lose my son. I didn't know what to do. I was in shock." The Queer Eye star added that when he got to his son's apartment, "I opened the door and it was a complete mess ... the house was dirty and I saw my son laying on the floor in the cat litter, foam coming out of his mouth." His now 25-year-old son Jason Brown appeared on the show as well. "I was actually so relieved whenever you caught me… when you found me," he told his father. "I don't know, I was truly tired of the way I was living and at some point, I was feeling that I was tired of living. It was kind of like a cry for help."

REBEL WILSON ADDRESSES RULING ON ‘GRUBBY' NEWSPAPER THAT TRIED TO OUT HER: On Saturday (October 29th), Rebel Wilson took to Instagram to comment on the Australian Press Council's ruling that the Sydney Morning Herald breached two of its principles in an attempt to out Rebel Wilson earlier this year. "Just seeing the news that the Australian Press Council has condemned the Sydney Morning Herald and their journalists for their recent grubby behaviour in trying to out my same-sex relationship," Wilson wrote. ‘HOCUS POCUS 2' BECOMES THE MOST-WATCHED MOVIE ON DISNEY+: According to Entertainment Weekly, Hocus Pocus 2 has become Disney+'s most-watched movie ever. The much-anticipated sequel is "the biggest opening for a streaming movie ever recorded" by Nielsen. Audiences reportedly watched 2.73 billion minutes of the film, beating out Encanto at 2.2 billion.

MANY IN HOLLYWOOD LEAVE TWITTER NOW THAT ELON MUSK IS THE OFFICIAL OWNER: According to The Hollywood Reporter, a number of big names in Hollywood are abandoning Twitter, now that Elon Musk runs it. Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes tweeted, "Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye," while This Is Us executive producer Ken Olin shared that he's "out of here." Billions showrunner Brian Koppelman tweeted, "Y'all's, for real, come find me over on instagram and the tok. Gonna really try to take a breather from here for a minute or a month come deal close time." The Wedding Ringer actor Josh Gad shared that he isn't sure if he'll stay or not. "Large exodus happening on this platform. Not sure if I stay or not. Leaning toward staying, but if today is a sign of things to come, not sure what the point is. Freedom of speech is great. Hate speech intended to incite harm, (with no consequences) ain't what I signed up for," he wrote.

‘WANDAVISION' SPINOFF STARRING PAUL BETTANY IS IN THE WORKS AT MARVEL STUDIOS: Deadline reports that a second WandaVision spinoff is in development at Marvel Studios, titled Vision Quest. The series is expected to follow Paul Bettany's Vision character as he tries to "regain his memory and humanity."

Saturday Night Live star Chris Redd was transported to Bellevue Hospital in New York City Wednesday (October 26th), after he was reportedly attacked outside of the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan's Greenwich Village neighborhood. The assault occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m.

TMZ reports that Redd was punched in the face by a man who was dressed like a security guard. Cops quickly arrived on the scene, but the assailant had already run away.

Redd was scheduled to perform at the Comedy Cellar that night. His new comedy special Why Am I Like This? will be released on HBO Max November 3rd.

Matthew Perry dissed Keanu Reeves in his new memoir Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing, and now he's offered the Matrix actor an apology.

In the book, Perry writes of his late friend River Phoenix: "River was a beautiful man, inside and out — too beautiful for this world, it turned out. It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down. Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?"

Some in Hollywood took to social media to respond to this slight. Lynda Carter tweeted, "Come on… Keanu Reeves is like one of those frozen cakes. Nobody doesn't like him!" West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler added, "personally thrilled that keanu reeves walks among us."

In a statement to People, Perry backtracked on his words. "I'm actually a big fan of Keanu. I just chose a random name, my mistake. I apologize. I should have used my own name instead," he said.

Ashley Judd told The Hollywood Reporter recently that she fractured her leg in a "freak accident" while grieving her mother, Naomi Judd. Naomi died by suicide in April, and Ashley previously revealed that she's the one who found her.

"Clumsiness is associated with grief," the Double Jeopardy actress said, adding that the femoral condyle fracture "healed in two months lickety-split."

Ashley shared that other members of her family also injured themselves following Naomi's death. "There were other people in our family, after mom died, who fell down stairs and had accidents. That's just what mine happened to look like," she said.

"It really allowed me to grieve. It really allowed me to stop what I was working on at that moment and to grieve," she added.

Apparently, Kourtney Kardashian was a hot mess when she and Travis Barker got married in Las Vegas earlier this year. The Poosh founder shared all the details on the latest episode of The Kardashians, admitting that she got "blackout" drunk and threw up afterwards.

"I blacked out," Kardashian said. "I didn't even remember Elvis, like, sang to me walking down the aisle. I didn't remember I had a bouquet." As her friend, Simon Huck, watched a video from the ceremony, Kardashian said, "I'm, like, slurring if you can't hear."

She also said the Elvis impersonator kept calling her Khloe, which caused her to fall to the ground laughing. "When Elvis was marrying us, he was like, 'I, Khloe, take thee, Travis,' and I just lost my mind, fell straight on the floor, and we couldn't get up."

She added, "I did throw up after, though, and took my top off and unbuttoned my pants. I had to walk back through the hotel with a million people taking my photo. I was a hot slob kabob."

On Wednesday (October 26th), Jonathan Van Ness shared a post about struggling with binge eating disorder, adding a content warning for his followers. Alongside a video of himself doing a backflip, the Queer Eye star shared that he "got help" in April.

Van Ness began his post by saying that he's always felt "hot & sexy," but that he's "been struggling with binge eating disorder at the same time for a very long time."

The Gay of Thrones star continued, "In April after years of feeling out of control with food I got help. Gymnastics is a huge source of joy for me, and I want to do it for as long and safely as possible. It's been so interesting because I now prioritize making time to eat, planning to eat & actually eating. It use to be my lowest priority which would make me so hungry that when I would eat, I would binge."

He added, "I was nervous to talk about it but I feel it's important to share, we are not alone, and it's good to ask for help when you need it. I honor my journey, I feel stronger and more in tune with my body and am so happy to have people to help me along the way."

‘WAKANDA FOREVER' DIRECTOR HONORS CHADWICK BOSEMAN AT THE FILM'S WORLD PREMIERE: Wakanda Forever saw its world premiere in Los Angeles Wednesday night (October 26th), and all the stars showed up in style. According to Good Morning America, the film's director, Ryan Coogler, wore a black and gold dog-tag necklace with the late Chadwick Boseman's face on it. "It was a necklace that I had made while we were getting ready to start filming because I wanted to keep him close to me," Coogler said. Rihanna & A$AP Rocky, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Chloe & Halle Bailey, Michael B. Jordan, and Quinta Brunson were among those who attended the premiere.

SERENA PITT AND JOE AMABILE ARE MARRIED: Bachelor in Paradise alums Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile officially tied the knot at City Hall in New York City on Thursday (October 27th). "We have always known marriage was in our future, it just looked a little bit different than we expected," the pair told People in a joint statement. "We still plan on having a big wedding next fall that we are already planning, but with everything being so public in our relationship, having a private moment just the two of us felt so special and intimate."

AMAL CLOONEY SAYS FIVE-YEAR-OLD SON DREW A PICTURE OF A JAIL AND SAID ‘PUTIN SHOULD BE HERE:' According to Page Six, George Clooney's wife Amal Clooney appeared on a panel alongside Michelle Obama and Melinda French Gates in New York City Tuesday (October 25th) and shared a story about their five-year-old son Alexander. SANTA FE DISTRICT ATTORNEY RECEIVES ‘RUST' SHOOTING POLICE REPORT: Deadline reports that the Santa Fe Sheriff's Department has finished its investigation into the fatal Rust shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, more than a year after the shooting took place. The report has been sent to New Mexico District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies. A statement from the DA's office reads, "The District Attorney and her team of investigators and prosecutors will now begin a thorough review of the information and evidence to make a thoughtful, timely decision about whether to bring charges." The statement continues: "As with all cases that the District Attorney handles, her focus will be on upholding the integrity of the process, enforcing the laws of the state of New Mexico, and pursuing justice."

WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘THE SANTA CLAUSES:' On Tuesday (October 27th), Disney+ released the official trailer for The Santa Clauses, starring Tim Allen, David Krumholtz, and Elizabeth Mitchell. According to People, the movie is set 30 years after the 1994 film The Santa Clause. In the trailer, Tim Allen's Santa Clause retires "too soon" and hires "the wrong guy," causing the Christmas spirit to dissipate. He and his family must return to the North Pole to save the day.

JASON BATEMAN AND JUDE LAW TEAM UP FOR ‘BLACK RABBIT:' Deadline reports that Arrested Development star Jason Bateman and Fantastic Beasts actor Jude Law are working together on a one-hour limited series for Netflix titled Black Rabbit. Both are expected to star in and executive produce the series, with Bateman set to direct. The premise of the show is being kept quiet for now.
