WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘A CHRISTMAS STORY CHRISTMAS:' Just as spooky season came to a close, HBO Max dropped the trailer for the Christmas Story sequel—nearly 40 years after the release of the original film. Variety reports that Peter Billingsley reprises his role as Ralphie, this time as a father who returns to Cleveland St. with his new family. The movie will be available on the streaming platform November 17th.

LUPITA NYONG'O TO STAR IN ‘A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE:' Deadline reports that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Lupita Nyong'o is in final negotiations with Paramount to star in A Quiet Place: Day One. The spinoff will be written and directed by Pig director Michael Sarnoski.

JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME TO LEAD ‘DARKNESS OF MAN:' According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to star in the upcoming neo-noir action film Darkness of Man. The film will be directed by James Cullen Bressack and has been compared to some of Van Damme's other films, including JCVD and The Bouncer.

EMMA ROBERTS AND GEOFFREY RUSH TO STAR IN ‘VERONA SPIES:' Deadline reports that American Horror Story actress Emma Roberts is expected to join Pirates of the Caribbean actor Geoffrey Rush in the forthcoming action-comedy Verona Spies. 'The View' Dresses Child As 'The Oscars Slap' For Halloween

There were a lot of great costumes on Monday's (October 31st) episode of The View, but one costume in particular is being called into question. In a segment hosted by wardrobe supervisor Ashley Alderfer Kaufman, kids wore costumes inspired by the show's "Hot Topics."

People took to social media in droves to comment on a costume called "The Oscars Slap," in which a child was dressed in a gold outfit to resemble an Oscars statue—with a red handprint on their face.

As the child was onstage presenting the costume, Kaufman told viewers, "We do not want to endorse violence of any kind but we couldn't help but talk about one of the hottest topics of this year."

One Twitter user wrote, "Not a fan of that Oscar slap costume," while another tweeted, "Bad taste on the Oscar slap."

A third person commented, "Difficult to keep up with everything but the red handprint on one's face is the symbol for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Too bad no one was able to flag this costume idea in advance."

Kim Kardashian Accidentally Showed Up In Costume To Tracee Ellis Ross' 50th Birthday Party

It appears that Kim Kardashian didn't get the memo. On Sunday (October 30th), The Kardashians star posted a selfie of herself with Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross to her Instagram stories, writing, "That time I showed up to a birthday dinner in full costume when it wasn't a costume party!" Kardashian mistakenly donned her Mystique costume to the birthday dinner.

"Happy Birthday to the most beautiful kind soul @traceellisross," she added.

On Saturday (October 29th), Ross posted a montage of photos and videos of herself throughout the years. The audio that accompanied the compilation is from a recent interview she did with Today.

In response to how she felt about turning 50, Ross said, "I'm very excited about it. I have always loved getting older."

Jennifer Hudson realized her childhood dream when she stepped out as Sister Mary Clarence, originally portrayed by Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act, on her talk show Monday (October 31st). In addition to performing songs from the movie, she also shared how important Sister Act was to her as a child.

"The movie just meant so much to me as a little girl. When I saw that movie, it gave me so much inspiration. That's the power of an icon like Whoopi Goldberg. It helped me create my dreams. One, I wanted to be in the movie," she said.

The EGOT winner continued, "And if nothing else, I would go to school and be like, maybe I could sit at my desk and sing a song like that. In honor of Julia Roberts' 55th birthday Friday (October 28th), a resurfaced interview revealing an incredible story about her birth has been circulating. It turns out, when her parents couldn't afford the hospital bill after she was born, Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King covered it for them.

In the viral clip, Roberts explains to Gayle King how her parents, Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts, became friends with the civil rights leaders. "My parents had a theater school in Atlanta called the Actors and Writers Workshop," she said. "And one day Coretta Scott King called my mother and asked if her kids could be part of the school because they were having a hard time finding a place that would accept their kids," Roberts said, referring to the effects of segregation in the 1960s.

She continued, "And my mom was like, ‘Sure, come on over.' And they all became friends, and they helped us out of a jam."

Chris Redd Is Hospitalized After Being Attacked In New York City

Saturday Night Live star Chris Redd was transported to Bellevue Hospital in New York City Wednesday (October 26th), after he was reportedly attacked outside of the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan's Greenwich Village neighborhood. The assault occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m.

TMZ reports that Redd was punched in the face by a man who was dressed like a security guard. Cops quickly arrived on the scene, but the assailant had already run away.

Redd was scheduled to perform at the Comedy Cellar that night. His new comedy special Why Am I Like This? will be released on HBO Max November 3rd.

Matthew Perry Apologizes To Keanu Reeves For Memoir Comments

Matthew Perry dissed Keanu Reeves in his new memoir Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing, and now he's offered the Matrix actor an apology.

In the book, Perry writes of his late friend River Phoenix: "River was a beautiful man, inside and out — too beautiful for this world, it turned out. It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down. Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?"

Some in Hollywood took to social media to respond to this slight. Lynda Carter tweeted, "Come on… Keanu Reeves is like one of those frozen cakes. Nobody doesn't like him!" West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler added, "personally thrilled that keanu reeves walks among us."

Ashley Judd told The Hollywood Reporter recently that she fractured her leg in a "freak accident" while grieving her mother, Naomi Judd. Naomi died by suicide in April, and Ashley previously revealed that she's the one who found her.

"Clumsiness is associated with grief," the Double Jeopardy actress said, adding that the femoral condyle fracture "healed in two months lickety-split."

According to Good Morning America, the film's director, Ryan Coogler, wore a black and gold dog-tag necklace with the late Chadwick Boseman's face on it. The report has been sent to New Mexico District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies. A statement from the DA's office reads, "The District Attorney and her team of investigators and prosecutors will now begin a thorough review of the information and evidence to make a thoughtful, timely decision about whether to bring charges."
