‘SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS' DIRECTOR IS ‘DEFINITELY DONE WITH SUPERHEROES' FOLLOWING THE FILM'S NEGATIVE REVIEWS: Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg took to Twitter Monday (March 20th) to address critics' response to the new movie. "On Rotten Tomatoes I just got my lowest critic score and my highest audience score on the same film … I wasn't expecting a repeat of the first movie critically but I was still a little surprised because I think it's a good film. JULIANNE HOUGH TO CO-HOST ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS:' According to Variety, Dancing with the Stars alum Julianna Hough will be returning to the show to co-host the 32nd season alongside Alfonso Ribeiro. This comes after Tyra Banks announced she would not be returning next season. "It is such an honor to be rejoining ‘Dancing with the Stars' as co-host. The show holds such a special place in my heart from the many years and different roles I have had the privilege of being a part of," Hough said in a statement.

Lance Reddick passed away unexpectedly on Friday (March 17th) at the age of 60. According to his rep, he died of natural causes.

Reddick is most known for his work on The Wire and in the John Wick movie franchise. He also held roles on shows such as Fringe, Bosch, Lost, Oz, and Resident Evil.

Stars such as Idris Elba, Halle Berry, Ben Stiller, Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan all paid tribute to the late actor on social media.

Elba, who starred on The Wire with Reddick, said in a video on his Instagram story, "Lance really was the guy. I love him, and I miss him…I don't give a f--- what anyone has to say, he killed that role as an actor. I'm f------g crying right now, heart bleeding for my guy because he f------g went in for us."

Reddick's wife Stephanie shared a post to his Instagram account on Saturday (March 18th). "Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day," she wrote.

Bruce Willis turned 68 on Sunday (March 19th), marking the Die Hard actor's first birthday since receiving his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis. His wife, Emma Heming Willis, took to her Instagram stories to share how she was feeling.

"Today is my husband's birthday. I have started the morning by crying as you can see by my swollen eyes and snotty nose," she said in a video. "I just think it's important that you see all sides of this."

She continued, "I always get this message or people always tell me, 'Oh, you're so strong. I don't know how you do it.' I'm not given a choice. I wish I was, but I'm also raising two kids in this."

Emma added, "Sometimes in our lives, we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it. And that's what I'm doing. But I do have times of sadness, every day, grief every day, and I'm really feeling it today on his birthday."

On Friday (March 17th), The Guardian published an interview with Sam Neill, during which the Jurassic Park actor revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage three angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma—a blood cancer.

Neill began a "very expensive" chemotherapy treatment in 2022. "I'm not off the hook as such, but there's no cancer in my body," he told the outlet.

Following this, he shared a video to Instagram Saturday (March 18th), assuring fans that he's "alive and kicking," and that he's been in remission for eight months.

"My news seems to be all over the news at the moment, and it's sort of ‘Cancer ! Cancer! Cancer !' Which is slightly tiresome because as you see, I am alive and well and I have been in remission for eight months, which feels really good," Neill said in the video. "I'm alive and kicking and I'm going to work."

According to Deadline, projections were low to start with at $35 million for Shazam! Fury Of The Gods' opening weekend, but it appears the sequel didn't even reach that goalpost. The film brought in just $30.5 million, down 43% from the original film's opening at $53.5 million in 2019. Scream VI took second place with $17.5 million, and Creed III followed close behind with $15.3 million.

‘MEAN GIRLS' WRITER BLASTS TINA FEY OVER UNPAID DUES: Mean Girls was inspired by Rosalind Wiseman's book Queen Bees and Wannabes, but the author told The New York Post recently that Tina Fey and Paramount owe her unpaid dues—and that she is considering taking legal action. Wiseman sold her film rights in 2002 for $400,000, but her contract allegedly included residual gains. However, she claims Paramount says the franchise has made no net profits. DJIMON HOUNSOU FEELS ‘CHEATED' BY PAY DISPARITY IN HOLLYWOOD: According to Deadline, Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Djimon Hounsou has been working in Hollywood for more than 30 years. He has received two Oscar nominations and has held roles in major films such as Amistad, Gladiator, In America, Laura Croft, Blood Diamond, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Yet he told The Guardian recently, "I have yet to meet the film that paid me fairly." Hounsou added, "I'm still struggling to try to make a dollar! While promoting his documentary Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie at South by Southwest on Tuesday (March 14th), Michael J. Fox discussed how his Parkinson's diagnosis has affected his life. "Parkinson's sucks — but it's a great life," he said.

The Back to the Future actor received his diagnosis when he was just 29 years old in 1991. "I have no regrets," Fox said. "You do what you have to do, but you do not want to kill yourself. And that's when I stopped."

The Family Ties actor added, "Pity is a benign form of abuse. I can feel sorry for myself, but I don't have time for that … There is stuff to be learned from this, so let's do that and move on."

Netflix's Addams Family spinoff Wednesday turned out to be a big hit, and Jenna Ortega shared with U.K.'s The Times recently that she almost didn't star in it.

Kyle was booked for felony aggravated assault before posting bond set at $3,000 on Tuesday (March 14th). TMZ reports that, according to Smyrna police, his boss claims he threatened to kill him before beating him up. Kyle also allegedly had a fixed-blade knife.

MATTHEW LAWRENCE CLARIFIES COMMENTS ABOUT WANTING KIDS WITH ROZONDA ‘CHILLI' THOMAS: In an interview with E! News published Wednesday (March 15th), Matthew Lawrence amended the comments he made earlier this month about planning to have kids with TLC's Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Speaking about his older brother, Joey Lawrence, he said, "Joe and I were commiserating about this plan that we had to have children together … when we were growing up. RYAN REYNOLDS SELLS MINT MOBILE TO T-MOBILE: On Wednesday (March 15th), Ryan Reynolds and T-Mobile released a joint statement announcing that the company has acquired the Deadpool actor's phone company Mint Mobile. "Mint Mobile is the best deal in wireless and today's news only enhances our ability to deliver for our customers," the statement said. "We are so happy T-Mobile beat out an aggressive last-minute bid from my mom Tammy Reynolds as we believe the excellence of their 5G network will provide a better strategic fit than my mom's slightly-above-average mahjong skills. I am so proud of the entire Mint team and so excited for what's to come."

In Paris Hilton's highly anticipated book Paris: The Memoir, published on Tuesday (March 14th), the Simple Life star reveals that she was groomed by an eighth-grade teacher.

Hilton said the "handsome young" teacher was nicknamed "Mr. Abercrombie," and that he told her he had a "crush" on her when she was in her early teens. She writes that he gave her his number and told her to keep their relationship a secret.

"Mr. Abercrombie called me almost every night, and we talked for hours about how amazingly mature, beautiful and intelligent I was, how sensual, misunderstood and special," she writes.

The House of Wax actress says that he "reminded" her of the 13-year age gap between Princess Diana and Prince Charles, and that Elvis Presley "fell in love" with Priscilla Presley when she was 14 years old.

Then the teacher allegedly came over to her house one day while her parents were away. "Teacher pulled me into his arms and kissed me," she writes, adding that her parents later caught them together in his car.

"It took decades for me to actually speak the word pedophile," she writes. "Casting him in the role of child molester meant casting myself in the role of victim, and I just couldn't go there."

Lindsay Lohan is expecting her first child with her husband, Bader Shammas! The Parent Trap actress took to Instagram on Tuesday (March 14th) to share the exciting news.

Lohan posted a photo of a onesie with "coming soon," written on the front of it in cursive, tagging Shammas in the post. The pair were married in July last year.
